This chapter details the ongoing transformations of long-term care often discussed as a “culture change” movement. It shows that breaking the bonds of “institutions” cannot be accomplished by physical changes alone, but must be accompanied by addressing the issue of personhood and how it exists within the cultural space of a long-term care environment.
